What Happens When You Break a Farsports Rim

Unfortunately, breaking rims is part of the cycling experience. While it’s never awesome, it was interesting to get some first-hand experience finding out what happens when one of my Farsports (Wheelsfar) road wheels met an untimely demise on the edge of a pothole.

Key question to me: what is the expected lifetime of a wheelset? If it’s greater than 5 years, then the decision is probably a matter of miles/year. If we anticipate rim damage every 10-20k miles, then a high-volume rider (> 5k miles/year) probably comes out ahead with Reynolds or Bontrager, while a low-volume rider (< 2k miles/year) probably comes out ahead with Farsports.
