Lots of neat there

I was traveling yesterday so I missed Canyon’s unveiling of the 2021 Aeroad. Having resolved that just now, I have to say that there’s a lot of clever engineering going on there; especially with the 3-peice cockpit. Although, they still don’t have an option that works for me; with my 130mm x 38mm setup. I do worry that they got a little too clever with the seatpost though, because while it looks great in concept and should be more aero it appears to my (completely untrained eyes) like they introduced a stress point (riser?) where the two sections of the seatpost join. Which if true, could make the thing split over time.

There’s also something kind of dodgy in the specifications section that troubles me (this is true for the DT Swiss ARC 1100 too):

Looking at the specs for the 1400, both wheels have a 20mm internal width.

So they’re mixing old ARC front with new ARC rear, probably to cut costs. This means that the front wheel likely won’t be optimized for the rubber they ship on the bike…

Personally, I would love to get one of these in to compare against my 2nd generation Aeroad. So if you’re listening Canyon…
